Why did we create Asylumbot?

Too often, asylum seekers have a hard time finding the correct information they so badly need. Support by refugee organisations is not available at all hours. Asylumbot is here to answer your first urgent questions!

How can Asylumbot help?

Only just arrived in Belgium? No idea where to begin or who to turn to? Asylumbot aims to give asylum seekers the necessary answers to their urgent questions. Of course, Asylumbot does not have all the answers, but at least Asylumbot is available 24/7. Don’t worry about long queues and paperwork, Asylumbot takes care of your questions immediately.

How does it work?

Asylumbot speaks two languages: English and Arabic. It covers a wide range of topics, including the asylum procedure, family reunification, legal assistance, where to find medical assistance, etc. Always bear in mind you’re talking to a chatbot, with the related technical constraints. If you don’t get a useful answer straight away, try rephrasing, simplifying or generalising your question.

Who is behind Asylumbot?

Based on the idea(l) that everyone has the right to receive help and in the spirit of Christmas time, deJuristen and Lee & Ally, in collaboration with Vluchtelingenwerk Vlaanderen, created Asylumbot. Do good things and good things will come your way, right?
